One of our very first collaborations in the area of entrepreneurship, was Junior Achievement Cyprus and the competition "Company of the Year", which gives the opportunity to students aged 15-18, to discover in practice how a business idea is implemented and how a business operates and grows. PwC supports the competition, through the voluntary participation of its people and the provision of substantial assistance to the participating teams in the form of mentoring. In addition, every year we organise a small trade fair at our offices, where the participating teams have the opportunity to present their ideas and sell their products to the people of our organisation.
The Community programme is an interactive educational initiative for third-grade primary school students in Cyprus, which aims to teach students about work readiness and social studies, emphasizing the importance of citizens' contributions to a community's success.
Upon the completion of the programme, students are able to describe a community, identify various careers within it, understand the skills required for different jobs, explain how government services are supported by taxation, recognize the importance of voting, and understand the flow of money in a community's economy.

This interactive programme, addressed to primary school third-graders, was implemented during April and May 2021 in a total of 19 classrooms in 11 different schools across Cyprus.
Through practical and interactive activities conducted in the classroom, the programme introduces students to how citizens can benefit from contributing to the prosperity of a community.
The students learned the concept of career as well as how each profession can contribute to the functioning of a community. The programme’s objectives include an understanding of concepts such as product manufacturing, innovation, sustainability, taxes, government, acquisition of skills, but also decision-making.
“Our Community” consisted of five 40-minute lessons taught online by 24 PwC volunteers, with additional activities for extended learning provided under each module.
Commenting on the organisation’s new initiative, PwC Cyprus CEO Evgenios Evgeniou stated: “If we want to look to the future with optimism, we must equip our children and youth both with knowledge and the necessary skills that will enable them to become active citizens who will shape tomorrow. I am very proud that our people are embracing initiatives of this kind and are contributing, on a voluntary basis, towards strengthening education, entrepreneurship and our society in general” he added.
