PwC supports efforts to attract investment

Platinum sponsor of CIPA International Investment Awards ceremony

PwC Cyprus was the platinum sponsor of the award ceremony of the CIPA International Investment Awards that took place yesterday in the gardens of the Presidential Palace.

The ceremony, which was under the auspices of the President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, aimed to award the companies and individuals that are active in Cyprus’ business sector and are distinguished by their contribution to the growth and promotion of the country’s economy.

The ceremony was attended by important players from the business sector, political officials, as well as the President of the European Investment Bank, Mr Werner Hoyer.

On behalf of PwC, CEO Mr Evgenios Evgeniou presented an award to Absolute Investment Group. Addressing the event, Mr Evgeniou said: “PwC is proud to be associated with this event which, by recognizing leading businesses, pays tribute to the engine of economic growth – investments.” He went on to refer to the implementation of a demanding but necessary economic adjustment programme, highlighting the significance of the collective effort being made by all the political and business stakeholders, but also the country’s citizens, to achieve economic growth. 

Commenting on the positive results of this effort so far, Mr Evgeniou said: “Important steps had been taken yet the job is far from done since it is the nature of business to be demanding. To ensure our country’s attractiveness, we need to decisively move forward with the reforms that will create the basis for future sustainable growth and will make Cyprus a modern, competitive, knowledge based country, with a strong international brand that fully leverages the quality of its people.  An example for others to follow”.
