Stavros Mariannis 
Advocate/Senior Manager

Stavros is a Senior Manager of the PwC Network Legal Practice in Cyprus with extensive experience in data privacy and digital regulatory compliance. He holds an LL.B (Hons) from the Queen Mary University of London (with First Class Honours), an LL.M (Corporate Law) from the University College London and is currently a Ph.D Law Candidate at the University of Cyprus. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Cyprus and a member of the Cyprus Bar Association.

Stavros specialises in data privacy and digital law compliance, managing the firm’s Data Privacy & Digital Team. He advises local and multinational organisations on GDPR and e-Privacy compliance, including the preparation of records of processing activities, privacy notices and policies, data processing agreements and data transfer agreements, the performance of data protection impact assessments and transfer impact assessments as well as the handling of data subject rights requests and incidents/breaches. He also supports in the provision of Data Protection Officer services, assisting and guiding clients on operational data privacy matters. He provides support to clientele across several industries, including in the banking, fintech, education and shipping industries. Further, Stavros advises clients on compliance with EU and national digital and cyber legislation, such as the EU AI Act, the EU Digital Services Act, NIS2 and DORA.

In addition, Stavros specialises on corporate and commercial law, advising on international group restructurings and transactions.

Stavros is an active member of the EMEA Cyber Security & Data Protection Leaders Group and of the Data Protection & Cyber Legal Sub-Network (Europe Section) Group of the PwC Legal Network.
