Education

At PwC Cyprus Foundation, we see education as the key to unlocking both personal and societal success. We're dedicated to offering fair opportunities for students to grow their creative talents and essential life skills.

Our initiatives include sponsoring awards for outstanding students at the University of Cyprus, University of Nicosia, Frederick, and other educational institutions across Cyprus.

CIM-Cyprus Business School, in partnership with PwC Cyprus, offers a unique chance to learn through the BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance program. Since 1978, CIM has evolved into a full-fledged business school, delivering a range of courses in marketing, business, accounting, finance, and beyond.

Our collaboration with PwC Cyprus enhances the program by combining hands-on work experience with academic learning.

March 2025

During Global Money Week 2025, PwC volunteers participated in educational briefings designed to raise awareness and empower young people with essential financial knowledge. This year's program saw participation from 10 classes across secondary and high schools across Cyprus.

This initiative, now in its third consecutive year, was conducted in collaboration with Junior Achievement (JA) Cyprus and under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth.

The theme for this year's Global Money Week was "Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow."

This effort is part of the PwC Foundation's "Education and Culture" pillar, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing financial literacy among the youth.

February 2024

On 8 February, we at PwC Foundation took a significant step forward by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), strengthening our long-standing partnership.

We believe in the transformative power of education, culture, youth entrepreneurship, and volunteerism as key drivers of growth, employment, and prosperity. That's why we offer scholarships to outstanding first-year students facing economic challenges at the University of Cyprus and CUT, along with financial awards to high-achievers across various academic institutions.

Our strategic partnership with CUT is set to support their EUt+ alliance efforts—an ambitious initiative that brings together eight European universities, including CUT, to offer joint degrees as a unified European University.

We're dedicated to backing CUT and the EUt+ Alliance in areas like student mentoring, talent access, workshop and event organization, joint proposal development, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Together, we're poised to pioneer advancements in education and technology.

June 2025

Seven remarkable students from diverse fields at the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) and the University of Cyprus have been awarded scholarships by Cleo Papadopoulou, our Partner and Vice President of the PwC Foundation.

We're proud to back these talented individuals as they pursue their academic goals.

TechWeCan

The TechWeCan by PwC Foundation was launched to ignite students' passion for emerging technologies and foster their understanding of tech careers. This extracurricular initiative aimed to provide a comprehensive education in technological fields, preparing students, between the age of 12 to 15 years old, for the challenges of the future.

With guidance from PwC's data scientists and operation consultants, students dive in into virtual reality, robotics, artificial intelligence, and more. Engaging presentations, captivating videos, and interactive activities deepened their knowledge and stimulated their curiosity.

The programme's first stage explores the application of technology in diverse fields such as retail, food, history, education, and entertainment.

To further enhance their experience, the second stage involves an immersive visit to PwC's Experience Centre in Nicosia. Here, students have hands-on access to state-of-the-art technologies, including virtual reality glasses, holograms, and augmented reality solutions. By engaging with these cutting-edge tools, students develop their problem-solving skills and gain insights into the real-world applications of emerging technologies.

Since 2022, we've been working with the Girls in STEAM Academy to inspire young women by equipping them with technical skills, leadership growth, and insights into STEM.

Participants engage with STEM professionals, boosting their self-confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The program includes inspiring sessions with women leaders, coding workshops, career advice, and public speaking opportunities. Plus, it offers workshops on gender equality and empowerment, along with exclusive 'Alumni Benefits' such as job shadowing, exchange programs, and internships.

This partnership is essential for shaping the future of women leaders.
