Diploma for Professional Coaches and Mentors from PwC

Launch of first programme in Cyprus to acquire such a diploma

Responding to increased demand for professional coaching and mentoring in Cyprus, PwC has launched a programme to acquire a relevant diploma from professionals in the field.

At an event held on Monday, 8 May at the organisation’s offices in Nicosia, interested candidates had the opportunity to find out about the programme’s benefits and practical information on the procedure that needs to be followed to acquire such a diploma.

The programme, which PwC’s academy is launching for the first time in Cyprus in cooperation with Bluesky International, has been accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and has received the European Quality Award.

On behalf of PwC, the event was addressed by Mr Philippos Soseilos, Partner, In charge of Consulting. Mr Soseilos noted that the coaching profession is still at the early development stages in Cyprus, as the number of coaches who have official, internationally recognised professional credentials to practise is very limited, despite increased demand. “At PwC, we are committed to contributing to the growth of the profession in Cyprus and we believe that by introducing the programme to acquire the relevant diploma, we are making the first and most defining step in this direction.”

On their part, EMCC Cyprus President Mrs Eleni Demosthenous analysed the action of the Council in Cyprus and EMCC International President Mrs Lise Lewis explained the significance of accrediting professional coaches.

Mrs Agnieszka Bajer, Senior Manager at PwC, Executive Coach and facilitator of the programme, then analysed the basic aspects of the programme, while also explaining the importance of professional coaching and mentoring for businesses. She noted, “The emerging need to be “fit for change” often requires significant transformation on a personal level. A confidential cooperation between an executive and a qualified coach, supports the coaching client to set and achieve their goals in a way that contributes to the achievement of the overall strategic objectives of an organisation.”
