Organisation’s new programme to support Cypriot businesses unveiled at event
PwC Cyprus presented the book “Strategy That Works” in cooperation with the Harvard Business Review publishing house, at an event held on Tuesday, 4 October in Nicosia. As part of the presentation, the organisation also announced its new programme to support Cypriot businesses, which it launched this year.
The book was presented by Kevin J. Stansfield, Principal at Strategy&, member of the PwC international network, to delegates from the business world and public sector stakeholders. It is the Harvard Business Review’s most significant publication on strategy of 2016, analysing the ways in which a business can eliminate the chasm between a theoretical business strategy and its actual implementation, with the ultimate goal of achieving the desired growth rate. It is essentially a practical guide with steps towards the successful implementation of strategies by businesses, based on an in-depth study of fourteen international enterprises which built their success by utilising their particular capabilities. The authors of the book are Paul Leinwand, Global Managing Director at Strategy&, and Cesare Mainardi, former CEO of Booz & Company and Strategy&, who are considered leaders in matters of strategy.
The panel discussion that followed was joined by senior executives of Cypriot businesses that stand out for their successful implementation of business strategies, such as the CEO of Cablenet, Mr Nicolas Shacolas, and the Managing Director at Photos Photiades Distributors, Mr Alexis Photiades. The discussion was coordinated by Mr Philippos Soseilos, Partner, in charge of Consulting at PwC Cyprus.
Support to Cypriot businesses
PwC Cyprus’ new programme to support Cypriot businesses, which was announced during the event, aims to utilise the organisation’s specialised knowledge to the benefit of the local business sector. PwC will place a series of new actions as well as events, conferences and other business-related activities organised by the organisation for the year 2016-2017 under the programme’s umbrella.
In statements, the CEO of PwC Cyprus, Mr Evgenios Evgeniou, said: “We feel especially lucky that our organisation’s decision to support Cypriot businesses in every way possible has coincided with the publication of the book ‘Strategy That Works’; a useful tool that includes substantive advice for the correct implementation of strategies for business growth. Recognising the role of Cypriot businesses in efforts for sustainable growth, the programme will adjust all the organisation’s planned activities to their needs.”
