Conference participants analysed the opportunities and challenges facing the Cyprus economy under the current international environment. Discussions were also held on the latest economic and political developments on a local and European level, as well as the country’s prospects as a Eurozone member. Representatives of international rating agencies, eminent UK academics, advisers to the European Central Bank and other key players in the business world also took part in the discussions.
During his participation in a panel discussion on investments, our CEO commented on the importance of Cyprus’ geographical position and its relations with its neighbouring countries. “Cyprus offers political, economic and social stability, attracting investors who appreciate the high quality of life we offer as a country, as well as our specialised human resources.” He then referred to the investments that have taken place in tourism, but also the broader effort that is underway in the maritime, funds, education as well as research and innovation sectors. “Being part of a strongly competitive international economic environment, we are called upon to continue with the reforms, focusing on productivity and attracting investments,”
